Larswad made a new hardware 1541 emulator. He connected an Arduino Uno to the serial IEC bus of the Commodore C64. The diskette data can be sent from a PC to the Arduino Uno. At the moment the 1541 emulators works, but you will have to wait for a turbo load function. The source code from this project is available.
